Susan Stone is Professor and the Catherine Mary and Eileen Clare Hutto Chair for Social Services in Public Education at the School of Social Welfare, UC Berkeley. She received her BA in Behavioral Science and her MA and PhD degrees from the School of Social Service Administration, University of Chicago. Her research examines (1) the educational experiences of under-served student subgroups, (2) how school organizational features shape students’ school experiences, (3) school-based social service delivery systems and school social work practices. Her work typically draws on school administrative data sources and relies on active collaboration with school and district staff.
