Jenna Marthaller is a transfer Master of Social Work student at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work. While studying at the University of Michigan this past semester, she was enrolled in a course on Children and Youth Services and Social Policies. The final project was to identify a problem and policy to advocate for as a solution, create a deliverable, and write a background report. The purpose of the project was to send their findings to relevant organizations, agencies and entities to help them in their mission.

Marthaller created an infographic on Youth of Color and the Juvenile Justice System. Her focus was the large disparity between the number of incarcerated white youth and incarcerated youth of color. Marthaller also suggested implementing and expanding the Smart on Juvenile Justice program in applicable areas.
